Beat provide support to help young people who may be struggling with an eating problem or an eating disorder. Call the Youthline (under 18’s) 0808 801 0711 or Studentline 0808 801 0811 (9am – 8pm during the week and 4pm – 8pm on weekends and bank holidays)

WANDSWORTH LIBRARIES - A CHANCE TO TALK

Wandsworth Libraries are running a free service for anyone to call and talk for 20 minutes with a librarian. These services are available for anyone dealing with loneliness or isolation in Wandsworth. To take part, email patrick.malone@gll.org or call 02087801945 and ask to speak to Patrick, who will be happy to arrange a session. Calls will take place between 10:00 and 15:30 on Tuesday. Wednesday, and Friday.

There are a number of local mental health services which you can access without needing to speak to a GP. Please follow the links for more information about each service.

St. George's Trust provides mental health support for South West London, with a range of services available. St. George's also hosts a Recovery College service which can provide training and support for those recovering from mental health problems.  

Thrive LDN is a charity providing resources to help Londoners with their mental wellbeing. Visit their website for mental health and wellbeing resources. 

Visit the Getting It On... hub for sexual and mental health, drugs, alcohol and relationship advice for 13-19 year-olds in SW London.

For access to psychological therapies services such as CBT, you can refer yourself through the NHS Psychological Therapies service.

Kooth is a mental health and wellbeing service for young people. Kooth provides an app, a message board, a magazine, and a team who are available to chat about mental health issues. 

RECOVERY CAFES - MERTON AND WANDSWORTH

Recovery cafes are run from Hestia Cafe in Wandsworth and Sunshine Cafe in Merton. The cafes provide a supportive space for adults who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Recovery Cafes are open 6-11pm Monday to Friday and 12 noon to 11pm Saturday, Sunday and every bank holiday. Please phone ahead to check availability and holiday opening times.
